Shareholder Hunting & Subsistence
Our Purpose: To optimize financial benefits, land use, and preserve our culture for the well-being of our Shareholders.
As an Alaska Native Corporation, Afognak understands its first priority is its shareholders. As Alutiiq people, our shareholders value our traditional subsistence way of life and have lived for generations off the bounty of the land and sea. To support our traditional way of life the Afognak Board of Directors has initiated the Shareholder Hunting and Subsistence Program. This program is designed to ensure our shareholders have the first right to access Afognak Island lands for subsistence purposes.
Any shareholder interested in utilizing the Shareholder Hunting and Subsistence Program may contact the Afognak Native Corporation Kodiak office. Afognak Native Corporation will provide a place to stay, drop-off and pick-up along the road system on Afognak Island. For more information on what is provided, what to bring, and scheduling please contact the Kodiak Office at 907.486.6014 or toll free 800.770.6014.
