Board of Directors

Afognak Native Corporation is governed by a nine member Board of Directors.  All Board Members are Native shareholders and are elected by their fellow shareholders, serving staggered 3 year terms.

Richard M. Hobbs II 
Chief Executive Officer/President
Afognak Native Corporation and Alutiiq, LLC 

Richard ("Dick") Hobbs serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Afognak Native Corporation.  In this capacity he provides the leadership for strategic planning, business development and operational management of both Afognak Native Corporation and the Alutiiq family of companies. 

Prior to joining Alutiiq in 2000, Dick worked at Chugach Alaska Corporation where he was responsible for business development, contract negotiations, transition and operational management/support for Government Service Operations and Maintenance contracts.  He joined Chugach in 1996, after serving eight years in the U.S. Navy.

Dean J. Clowers
Executive Vice President
Afognak Native Corporation and Alutiiq, LLC

Dean Clowers has served as the Executive Vice President of Afognak Native Corporation and the Alutiiq family of companies since April 2008.

As Executive Vice President, Dean oversees all of the Corporation's business operations.  This includes evaluating and implementing the strategic business plans for the Corporation's operational divisions and monitoring performance against such plans.

Before his current role, Dean was the Senior Vice President of Operations for Afognak and the Alutiiq family of companies.

Prior to joining the Afognak/Alutiiq team in January 2006, Dean accumulated over 25 years experience in business development and management of government construction and service contracts performed in all military sectors and for numerous state and federal agencies.
