2010 High School Intern Program: Our Experience

The Afognak Native Corporation High School Intern program provides up to four Afognak shareholders and descendants that are going to high school or just graduated from high school, with work experience and an opportunity to explore career options.  Interns work half-days providing administrative support in a department and half-days on a group project.

Amy Orth and Geramy Hanson participated in the 2010 High School Intern Program. For their group project, the Interns created a video that describes subsistence and shares their experience in the Intern program.

If you are interested in learning workplace ethics, exploring employment opportunities through the Corporation, understanding the global nature of Afognak and its Alutiiq subsidiaries, and how to excel in a team environment, then our program is the right program for you! Intern applications are available in the spring and can be downloaded off the Afognak website.
