On March 29, 2017, Director Sarah Lukin was invited by the Chairman of the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works to testify at a congressional hearing on contaminated lands. Afognak Native Corporation sponsored her travel on behalf of the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association (ANVCA).  ANVCA is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the collective interests of Alaska Native village corporations. Director Lukin’s testimony focused on the status of US military contaminated sites conveyed to Alaska Native Corporations around Kodiak and Afognak Islands, as well as across Alaska. This testimony is part of a broader lands advocacy effort. View the video below:
