Apprentices Graduate

The application period for the 2018 Apprentice Program is now closed.

The goal of the Apprentice program is to provide intensive on-the-job training to one highly motivated Shareholder who is interested in working in a pre-mid level position in one of the business areas of Afognak Native Corporation (Afognak), Alutiiq, LLC, or their subsidiaries.  It is anticipated that through concentrated training and mentoring, the Apprentice will be qualified to enter into the specified area after one year of on-the-job training.

Apprentices are expected to work full-time (i.e., 40 hours a week).  The length of employment will be determined on a case-by-case basis to accommodate the training needs but will not exceed a one-year period.

Applicants must submit an Afognak online employment application, cover letter and resume.


  1. Afognak Native Corporation (ANC) Shareholders who are Native, and (ii) ANC Shareholders who are descendants of a Native.
    1. The two categories of eligible applicants set out in 1 above each include
      1. An adoptee of a Native or a descendant of a Native whose adoption occurred prior to majority and is recognized at law or in equity
      2. An adoptee whose adoption occurred after the age of majority, but only if that adoptee is both a Native and a voting Shareholder.
  1. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED and be at least 18 years of age.
  1. Must be a self-starter that is interested in learning the skills to succeed in a chosen field of work.
  1. Must work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.


  1. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
